Communication Recommendations

The patient portal is our preferred method of communication. It provides full documentation of the interaction and allows us to resolve issues in a timely manner.

 

Daily call volumes prevent our staff from providing a live, on-demand answer to many questions. Plan on leaving a message via text (805) 492-1015 or voicemail. Please leave all relevant information as simply as possible. Messages with extended or complicated medical requests will need to be scheduled with one of our providers. Our main voice and text line is (805) 492-1015. All other back lines are for messages only.

Our office has a high daily demand of tasks to triage and we have a strategy to try to meet the needs of our patients. Calling the office multiple times without leaving a message or leaving multiple messages does not push you to the front of the line. If your needs are urgent you should contact the urgent care or the emergency room.

Current Response Times

​

Appointment requests - Next business day but often same-day

 

Refill requests - Three (3) business days. Often these are done faster but please respect and anticipate this as our “normal” response time.

 

Lab and Imaging Results - Results of testing done in our office or at another facility are not available immediately. Occasionally we will get a call with an urgent result but, more frequently, it takes at least 5 business days for the office to receive final results from basic lab or imaging tests. Some results take longer for us to receive. With that in mind, you can expect the following response times AFTER your results are received.

 

Normal and abnormal non-urgent lab results - Minimum of five (5) business days

 

Abnormal labs requiring intervention - One to three (1-3) business days depending on urgency.

 

Billing questions - Fourteen (14) business days
